Still on the move

Would you believe that 25 hours later I am still on the move?? My flight out of Toronto was delayed by 3 hours and thus I missed my connecting flight from Paris to Morocco.  Currently I am sitting in Charles De Gaulle for the fourth hour, waiting out the final hour until my replacement flight.  The plan for the moment is to arrive in Morocco at 8:45 local time, which is 2:45 Milwaukee time.  I will have traveled for 29:30 hours just to get to Morocco from Milwaukee.  Never again.  Never again.  I don't care how much it costs- don't take the cheap flight with all the layovers.

I have seen lots of fun things in the airports, though.  Chicago's airport has automated cellophane seat covers, but no automatic flushers.  I saw a monk in a brown robe with a matching brown fan.  I saw a little Asian girl in a beautiful red coat with the roundest face I have ever seen.  In Toronto there was much to see: 21 disgruntled p\Peruvians, 3 nuns (1 sleeping), 6 sleeping passengers, and 2 women doing yoga while waiting for a delayed flight to Lima.  A young blonde boy in striped pajamas stalked up to a kiosk and stole a train and then his furious mother chased him down the concourse yelling in French.  I saw a young woman in a tan suit with a red fez style hat that had a white veil dropping from the right hand side.  In Paris I saw pairs of young siblings hugging and kissing on another while playing and sharing cookies.  Three women wore white fedoras and one young man wore pink trousers.  All of the printers in the airport print on that old-school paper with rows of holes down both sides, and everything is well build and very dirty.

The wing of the airport which I am waiting in appears to service only Africa and the Middle East.  The differences are striking.  The security is lax, (while in my state of confusion they allowed me to leave the secure area and cross back over twice without going through security.  I see it as logical, but I know lots of americans wouldn't), and there are already hints of the next place I am headed to.  The flight attendants wear coats which cover them to just above their ankles.  They also wear dark stocking and little makeup and their hair is very simple.  Nothing like the American stewardesses who preceded them.

That is all the news for now.  My program manager informed me during the chaos of this afternoon that the hotel we are staying at this week has wifi, so I will be in touch again soon.
